JONATHON PORRITT
" "Make it Happen" is absolutely the right message. Getting
stuck-in is so much better for your physical and mental health than
sitting around grumpily anticipating the end of life on Earth. The drive
behind this campaign to convert Seale-Hayne into a Climate Change
Solutions Centre has that simple idea at its heart. So why don't you
help make it happen!". Forum for the Future

TONY JUNIPER
“There is now no more important endeavour for human societies than
to find and deploy, as quickly as possible, solutions that will move us
to a low carbon economy. We will certainly need centres where the
best of practice and the best of thinking can be brought together,
and Seale Hayne offers a marvellous opportunity to do just that.”
Friends of the Earth

MARK LYNAS
"Whilst there are things we can do collectively and easily that will make
a measurable difference in the battle against climate change, we need
places like the proposed Climate Change Solutions Centre to bring
these things together". Columnist for the New Statesman and
author of Six Degrees

AC GOLDSMITH
Of all the research gaps that exist, finding solutions to climate change
is by far the most important. We badly need a centre that explores
genuine best practice.
It would be wonderful to see this campaign succeed. The Ecologist

TONY KENDLE
"The world urgently needs the sort of work proposed by the team
behind the Climate Change Solutions Centre. This is a high powered
group of people with great vision, set to make a real impact on the
future of the south west." Foundation Director - Eden Project

TRANSISTION TOWN TOTNES
Transition Town Totnes is the UK's first Transition Initiative,
meaning that it is proactively exploring how the practicalities of
the transition to a carbon constrained, energy lean world, yet
viewing that as a positive opportunity. TTT is a community-led initiative, which is working towards the creation of an Energy
Descent Action Plan for the town. The thinking behind TTT is simply
that a town using much less energy and resources than we presently consume could, if properly planned for and designed, be more
resilient, more abundant and more pleasurable than the present.
TTT very much supports the initiative to create a Climate Change Solutions Centre at Seale Hayne, Devon. The provision of a
‘How To’ centre, is an essential in provide practical trusted
solutions responding to the effects of climate change and natural resource depletion, that communities in the UK like Totnes will
need to undertake in the face of these challenges.
We wish you every success in undertaking this important and
timely initiative

PAUL ALLEN
"Dealing with climate change issuch a big issue that we need
many regional centres like CCSCto get 'how-to' information
out there. The Centre for AlternativeTechnology is happy to
support this initiative, sharing our knowledge and experience,
to help meet the urgent challenge of climate change".

"I would like to ask anyone who is in a position to assist the
Climate Change Solutions Centre to HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN.
It is essential that the solutions to climate change be brought to
life for people in as many fun, imaginative and practical ways as
possible and I see this fantastically innovative project as an extremely positive step in the right direction."

COLOUR WORKS
are the South West’s pioneering print and design company.
They take environmental issues to the core of their business.
Having started some four years ago with a reduction of waste to
landfill of 95% they have moved progressively on each year with on
going improvements and initutives.
Voted Devon’s most environmental business in 2005 by Devon
Environmental Business Initutive, they ended last year offsetting the
carbon produced in their production with tree planting on the southern
edges of Dartmoor. They also took part in an oil vunerability audit with
Transition Town Totnes.
All ink used in their production is vegetable based. Press room
chemisty has been reduced by almost half in the last two years with
further reductions planned for 2008..
Colour Works are pleased to support this bid for Seale-Hayne to
become a climate change solutions centre.

OTTER FARM
Global warming is the single most significant issue in our lives,
and if we are to move towards a sustainable future we need a
central place to bring together the best in current thinking and
promote the innovation and best practice that is vital to getting to
grips with the challenge ahead.  The Climate Change Solutions
Centre is a truly exciting, forward looking proposal that has the
potential to provide this focus and I urge us all get behind this
proposal and make it happen. Mark Diaco.

BARN OWL TRUST
The Barn Owl Trust's aims are to conserve the Barn Owl and its environment. In addition to Barn Owl conservation work the Trust
has always tried to raise awareness of environmental issues and to
consider its own impact on the Earth. The Barn Owl Trust is pleased

LAND-ECOL HUSBANDRY
You deserve every chance of success.  This is just the project the
county, the country and the economy needs right now.
Landecol Husbandry very much supports the bid to found the UK's
first Climate Change Solutions Centre at the Seale- Hayne campus.
We are an organisation with similar aims, promoting the teaching of
the principles and practices of husbandry as a means to attain long
term sustainable growth in wealth for humanity and the ecologies we are in charge of.
We are situated on an agricultural site only 1 mile from the Seale Hayne
college.  We would be happy to co-operate with the new centre and to
offer our experience, and our field facilities as a teaching resource for
the Climate Change Solutions Centre.

KAREN EBERHARDT SHELTON
A life-long environmental activist, published author, poet and award winning photgrapher with the aim of setting up an Eco-Trust for wildlife
protection and the promotion of sustainable living and producing story
lines for feature films depicting fictionalised dramas, events and situations capable of changing human perception about how humans
need to relate to the earth.  Her new book appears officially on 8 March:
A WOMEN’S GUIDE TO SAVING THE WORLD and includes contributions from Anna Roddick, Caroline Lucas, Shannon Smy,
Maddy Harland, Julia Hailes, Clare Short, etc. 83 women in total.
She is in total support of the Seale-Hayne venture ‘Because it touches
all points of the environmental compass.  It would be one of the best
things to happen in the whole of England right now in light of the
blanket of Climate Change descending on us.’

Sean Hellman -WOODWRIGHT DESIGN
I enthusiastically support the aims of the Centre. As a traditional
wood-worker and maker, environmentalist and local businessman,
I am looking forward to becoming more involved.

LUCY LEPCHANI
A Centre for Climate Change Solutions at Seale-Hayne is both
an inspired and down-to-Earth idea. It will provide opportunities
and housing for local people; will work harmoniously with existing
and new business enterprises; and will highlight South Devon’s
unique role on the national and international ‘stage’.
As a local writer and educator, I am particularly excited about the
Centre’s potential role in education, and making links with the arts:
that it would inspire and empower many people, especially young
people, to develop positive attitudes about the future of all Life on Earth;
the knowledge and practical skills to make a difference; and a very
real sense of ‘planet as community’, that we all might share and celebrate.

Paul Guess - ENDLESS DESIGN
Make this happen!
Why not take the lead ... work with a vision that’s time is NOW.
We have everything to gain and nothing to loose.
Put Devon and the UK where we should be on this driving issue.
This project would put us in the driving seat on a global issue....
good for every one!!!

THE FOOD GROOVE
Café offers a delicious range of mainly vegetarian food, locally sourced
or fair-trade, organic where available, conjuring up some exceptional flavours, often in a field.  Local sourcing and organic produce are cornerstones of the business combined with composting policies, minimising waste and road miles.
We need to act now for the sake of our children, the old adage “think
global, act local” is still so important.  Centres such  as proposed for
Seale Hayne are essential to demonstrate the practicalities of living a
low carbon footprint and the importance of looking after our environment.

YESHE KHANDRO I am writing in support of Seale -Hayne bid
for a centre of climate change solutions.  It is a unique opportunity
for setting up the first centre of this kind . How desparately we need this at this crucial time in human history.
