SEALE-HAYNE Climate Change Solutions Centre

The UK's 1st "How To" Solutions Centre for Climate Change

Global climate change is a reality and it will affect all of us in the
coming decades. The need for action is urgent in order to protect generations to come. Time is of the essence for us to make a
proactive stand for a sustainable and secure future.

The Seale-Hayne Climate Change Solutions Centre will be the
UK's first dedicated "How-To" centre for climate change adaptation
and mitigation. Our focus is to convert research into action to deliver trusted information and real solutions for a more sustainable future.
We intend to clearly demonstrate how individuals, businesses and decision makers can reduce their carbon footprints and achieve the
80% reduction in greenhouse gases (CO
2) that will be required in
order to reduce the impacts of climate change.

The Centre will work in partnership with a host of collaborating
organisations to identify and deliver innovative best practices and
solutions which can be quickly adopted by society.

Seale-Hayne Climate Change Solutions Centre will become a focal
point and beacon for the South West of England. It will also aspire
to be a national and international "how-to" role model to teach
individuals and empower communities to lessen the impact of
climate change and adapt to new ways of living.

"Make it Happen is absolutely the right message.
Getting stuck-in is so much better for your physical
and mental health than sitting around grumpily
anticipating the end of life on Earth.
The drive behind this campaign to convert Seale-Hayne into a Climate Change Solutions Centre has that simple idea at its heart. So why don't you help make it happen!"
JONATHON PORRITT
Forum for the Future

“There is now no more important endeavour for human societies than to find and deploy, as quickly as possible, solutions that will move us to a low carbon economy.
We will certainly need centres where the best of practice
and the best of thinking can be brought together, and
Seale Hayne offers a marvellous opportunity to do just that.”
TONY JUNIPER
Friends of the Earth

"Whilst there are things we can do collectively and easily
that will make a measurable difference in the battle against
climate change, we need places like the proposed Climate Change Solutions Centre to bring these things together".
MARK LYNAS
Columnist for the New Statesman - author of Six Degrees

Of all the research gaps that exist, finding solutions to
climate change is by far the most important.
We badly need a centre that explores genuine best practice.
It would be wonderful to see this campaign succeed.
ZAC GOLDSMITH
The Ecologist

"The world urgently needs the sort of work proposed by the team behind the Climate Change Solutions Centre. This is a high powered group of people with great vision, set to make a real impact on the future of the south west."
TONY KENDLE
Foundation Director - Eden Project

We are always interested in new ways to engage with new
and influential audiences. It is a most interesting endeavour
for engaging wider society with climate change solutions
and technologies, and I wish you success with your venture.
PROFESSOR ANDREW WATKINSON

"Dealing with climate change issuch a big issue that we need
many regional centres like CCSCto get 'how-to' information
out there. The Centre for AlternativeTechnology is happy to
support this initiative, sharing our knowledge and experience,
to help meet the urgent challenge of climate change".
